In celebration of Women’s History Month we proudly recognize Staff Sergeant Nicole Caluori, who leads the West Point Band as the first female Drum Major in the band’s 200-year history.
Staff Sergeant Nicole Caluori joined the West Point Band in 2009 after studying horn performance at Florida State University and Southern Methodist University with William Capps and Gregory Hustis. Prior to joining the band, Staff Sergeant Caluori spent summers at Tanglewood Music Center, National Repertory Orchestra, and Sarasota Music Festival. She has also performed with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Since joining the West Point Band, her memorable experiences include performing with the New York Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic Brass Quintet, and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Staff Sergeant Caluori is also the horn player in the West Point Woodwind Quintet. With the quintet, she has streamed live broadcasts at Trinity Church Wall Street and performed at the Shalin Liu Performing Art Center for the Rockland Music Festival.
In her free time, Staff Sergeant Caluori enjoys running, swimming, and spending time with her husband Nick (who serves as third horn in the West Point Band) and their three children.
